As of July 26, 2020, the only asymptomatic testing available in Montana is at Bozeman's Price-Rite Health Mart pharmacy by appointment only. More information on eligibility for Price Rite testing can be found here.
As of July 26, 2020 and due to nation-wide testing back log from out-of state laboratories processing Montana test kits, the DPHHS is prioritizing testing to ensure critical testing needs of patients and providers are met. The State of Montana labs can process approximately 1,200 tests daily and the Montana State University lands can process up to 500 tests daily. As a result, testing performed will prioritized as follows:
Priority 1- Testing supporting response activities:
1. Symptomatic, regardless of hospitalization;
2. Close contacts and outbreak investigations coordinated by Public Health Authorities.
Priority 2- Testing supporting surveillance/monitoring activities:
1. Frontline workers (health care workers in high-risk situations, staff of assisted living facilities and long term care centers participating in surveillance testing);
2. Residents of selected congregate settings such as group homes, institutions, and other facilities.
The state resource hotline is 1-888-333-0461 and more information about contacting individual county health departments can be found here and also from the CDC here.
Note that some tests listed may have costs associated with the procedure or a potential referral unless otherwise specified.
If someone is having severe respiratory symptoms, including shortness of breath, they need to call 911 or a local Emergency Department directly prior to coming in to a medical facility.
